How to Crack JEE-MAINS B.arch
JEE Main 2019nPaper 2 Exam Pattern
JEE Main comprises 2 papers. Paper 1 is meant for B. Tech aspirants while candidates applying for B. Arch course should attempt Paper 2. Candidates who wish to pursue B.Arch & Planning from IIT's, not only need to clear JEE Main & JEE Advanced but also Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT).
The structure of paper 2 in JEE Main is as follows:
Section 1: - Aptitude Test with 50 Objective Questions for 200 marks
Questions coming in this section test the general awareness, reasoning ability, analytical skills of the students.
Section 2: - Maths Test with 30 Objective Questions for 120 marks.
Section 3: - Drawing test with 2 Questions (Memory, 2D Design) for 70 marks
Note: Drawing Questions have to attempt on the separate drawing sheet placed with the answer sheet.
Week 1 Plan:
- Plan & Strategize: You know the syllabus, You know the pattern. Now all you need to do is make a schedule and allot days to each topic.
- Gather Study Material: Get the right books to study from and do not waste time scrolling for study material online. Books are well curated for your better understanding.
- Get over with maths: Maths is tough, and It is same as the one you would prepare for paper 1. Do a lot of practice to get your concepts clear. Try to finish it first and then focus on other section of paper 2.
- Topics to Cover (Maths)
- Probability and Statistics
- Vector Algebra
- Integration
- Complex Numbers
- Circles and family of circles
Week 2 Plan:
- Focus on your Strengths: One cannot afford to waste time, with just a few days in your hands. Finish and get over with the topics in which you have good knowledge. This will take off the load from your head and you can focus on studying the rest.
- Develop a habit of reading newspaper Daily: Stay up to date with the news and have a good awareness of world events for your aptitude test.
- Do not stress out: Keep healthy and stay focused, You cannot afford to fall ill or be exhausted of stressing out too much. Study efficiently, Keep it calm and organize your schedule accordingly.
- Start Practice for your Aptitude Section: Once you covered half of your maths section, you can start preparing for aptitude section.
- Topics to Cover (Aptitude):
- Visualizing 3D objects from 2D drawings
- Visualizing different sides of 3D objects
- Mental Ability (Visual, Numerical and Verbal)
- Analytical Reasoning
- Three dimensional – perception and appreciation of scale and proportion of objects
- (Other left out topics of Maths)
Week 3 Plan:
- Practice & cover rest of the aptitude topics
- Work on your drawing & observation skills for Section 3 of Paper 2: Drawing is not an easy task. Architecture is a subject of precision and you need to have excellent imagination skills as well as observation skills to draw out your thoughts on paper.
Week 4 Plan:
- Practice makes a man Perfect: Practice as much as you can, solve previous year questions and go through every sample paper.
- Work on your speed: Calculations, reasoning, and drawing. All the sections are pretty time to consume. So it is important to work on your speed and manage to finish your exam well on time.
