About Inframe Design Institute

Design have been an essential part of the society since decades and designers are believed to be the true intellectuals of the future. IDI (Inframe Design Institute), the design alchemy, endowed and wielded by a group of artist themselves founded back in 2013 is the only exceptional gateway into the sphere of design in the heart of SUNCITY.

IDI is about an enduring jaunt that we started couple years back in the coliseum of art & design with an agenda of having an ace institution in our city in the field of design and creating aliveness among the young aspirants about careers in design. We initiated with finite resources and brains and now we are immeasurable & extensive in the design meadow.

We here integrate mentors from the field of art & design to counsel the students in the field of design and enroot a sight of artist in them. We are much more focused on the qualitative study, our commitments in the field of design and the aspects of design which can enhance the level of intelligence in our students and we are in pursuit of attainments.

NIFT 2025 Exam Overview

The NIFT exam is conducted for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programs in fashion design, fashion technology, and related fields. The exam is divided into two parts:

  1. NIFT CAT (Creative Ability Test): For evaluating the creativity, design aptitude, and problem-solving abilities of candidates.
  2. NIFT GAT (General Ability Test): For assessing the candidates' general knowledge, analytical ability, and mathematical skills.

Here’s a detailed look at the exam format:

1. NIFT 2025 Exam Pattern

Undergraduate Programs (B.Des, B.FTech):

  • B.Des (Bachelor of Design): Offers specializations in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Knitwear Design, Accessory Design, and more.
  • B.FTech (Bachelor of Fashion Technology): Focuses on fashion technology and apparel production.

Exam Phases:

  • Phase 1: Written Test
    • GAT (General Ability Test):
      • This part includes objective-type questions that assess:
        • Quantitative Ability
        • Communication Ability
        • English Comprehension
        • Analytical Ability
        • General Knowledge and Current Affairs
        • Case Study (for B.FTech only)
    • CAT (Creative Ability Test):
      • A drawing test where candidates demonstrate their creativity, innovation, and visualization skills. This part typically includes questions on sketching, concept visualization, and design problem-solving.
  • Phase 2: Situation Test / Interview (for B.Des)
    • Candidates who qualify the written test are called for the Situation Test (for B.Des), where candidates are asked to create a 3D model using provided materials to solve a design problem. This test evaluates creativity, problem-solving ability, and practical knowledge of design.
    • For B.FTech, there is an interview instead of the Situation Test. The interview assesses candidates’ technical skills, communication, and understanding of fashion technology.

Postgraduate Programs (M.Des, M.FTech, MFM):

  • M.Des (Master of Design): For those with a background in design-related fields.
  • M.FTech (Master of Fashion Technology): For those with a background in fashion technology.
  • MFM (Master of Fashion Management): For those interested in the business and management side of fashion.

Exam Phases:

  • GAT (General Ability Test) for all postgraduate programs:
    • This part evaluates the candidates' general knowledge, quantitative skills, English comprehension, and analytical ability.
  • Interview/Group Discussion (for M.Des and MFM):
    • For M.Des and MFM, the second phase is an interview or group discussion. The interview assesses candidates' understanding of design, fashion trends, creativity, and overall potential.
